Meet the Practitioner
Triya Smith
I was in an extended, rigorous apprenticeship for over 6 years with Dr. John Shere DC, Organizer of Functional Symmetry and a mind-body practitioner for over 40 years. My extensive training, approximately 8,000 hours with Dr. Shere, gave me a solid foundation of understanding and working with human dynamics, the mind-body connection and professionalism. Using dynamic kinesiological testing, an in-depth perception of a person’s “inner structures,” and a sincere intent for relieving suffering, I work with symptoms as a path towards healing.
My background training also includes: Reevaluative Counseling, Conflict Mediation, 5 years in-person Group Dynamics Training, Gestalt, NLP, Family Constellations Facilitator Certification through NLP Marin, Brainspotting, 1 year in the Diamond Approach training, Reichian Breathwork Training, a 5-year training in “intuition” and “extrasensory perception” with Dr. Aubrey Degnan Ph.D. I have a B.A. in Psychology and an A.A. in Business Planning. I co-founded and co-operated Great Vibes Cleaning, a successful cleaning company in Nevada City, CA dedicated to serving its employees and clients.
Additionally, I spent 20 years in independent study of a broad array of psychology, behavioral neuroscience, human behavior and body language, linguistics, natural horsemanship, alternative healing techniques, and clear and concise communication while seeking to understand and live by universal principles of spirituality. I also love to garden. Flowers are one of my favorite things about being human.
Functional Symmetry is the most comprehensive, most accurate and direct way of dealing with issues that I have ever come across. Most of the physical, emotional, mental and even spiritual “symptoms” I experienced have been relieved, and many I didn’t know I had were brought to my awareness and addressed. I live a blessed life I never imagined was possible, until now.
